Judge Throws Out 6 Counts of Trump's Georgia Election Interference Indictment
A Fulton County judge dismissed six counts from the election interference indictment against former President Donald Trump and some of his co-defendants, including Rudy Giuliani, Mark Meadows, and John Eastman. The counts were related to the solicitation of a violation of oath by a public officer. Judge Scott McAfee ruled that the charges lacked sufficient detail to support their legal elements, thereby hindering the defendants' ability to prepare their defenses. The decision reduces Trump's counts from 13 to 10 in the case.
Paul Alexander, Icon of Resilience, Passes Away After Decades in Iron Lung
Paul Alexander, who contracted polio as a child in 1952, spent seven decades living inside an iron lung until his recent passing. The virus left him paralyzed from the neck down, necessitating the use of the iron lung to assist with breathing. Despite the challenges, he learned to communicate and eventually pursued higher education, obtaining a law degree and practicing law. Alexander's story garnered widespread attention, and tributes poured in following his death. Polio, once a serious threat, has become rare in the US and UK due to vaccination programs.

BYU Basketball Eyes 4-Seed in NCAA Tournament, Say Bracket Projections
BYU basketball is poised to enter the NCAA Tournament, with 20% of brackets projecting them as a 4-seed and 79% as a 5-seed. Their average seed of 4.81 is the highest among 5-seeds. A strong showing in the Big 12 tournament could boost them to a 4-seed, necessitating 2-3 wins. Their first opponent will be determined from the UCF-Oklahoma State game, with UCF presenting a Quad Two opportunity and Oklahoma State a Quad Three one. Advancing would pit them against Texas Tech in a Quad One matchup.
BYU Football Cancels 2024 Spring Game Due to Stadium Surface Replacement
BYU head coach Kalani Sitake confirmed that there will be no Spring game for the BYU football team in 2024 due to the replacement of the playing surface at Lavell Edwards Stadium. The decision was made in light of concerns about the condition of the old grass during the 2023 season. While fans may be disappointed, Sitake believes the sacrifice will be worth it. Instead of a Spring game, BYU will host an alumni game on the West Campus Field, featuring former BYU quarterbacks like Riley Nelson, Jake Heaps, and Max Hall.
