Woman Struck by Falling Rock at Bridal Veil Falls Dies
Diane Dewey, injured by a falling rock slab at Bridal Veil Falls in Provo Canyon on June 3, has died from her injuries, according to the Utah County Sheriff's Office. The rock, approximately 24 inches wide and two to three inches deep, hit Dewey in the back and head. Despite being alert and talking when first responders took her to Utah Valley Regional Hospital, she later succumbed to her injuries.

High Earners More Worried About Finances Than Middle-Income Americans
A report by the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia shows that Americans earning over $150,000 are increasingly worried about making ends meet, more so than those earning between $40,000 and $99,999. The survey revealed 32.5% of high earners are concerned about their finances in the next six months, compared to 29.8% of those earning $40,000-$69,999. The wealthy are cutting back on discretionary spending and expressing concerns about childcare, elder care, job security, and exposure to illness. While inflation has decreased, prices are still rising, contributing to financial anxiety across all income groups.

NASA Contracts SpaceX for ISS Deorbit Mission
NASA has contracted SpaceX to build the "U.S. Deorbit Vehicle" to guide and destroy the International Space Station (ISS) after its retirement in 2030. The $843 million contract aims to ensure the safe deorbiting of the ISS, pushing it into reentry from orbit.

BYU Named Top Athletic Department in Utah
BYU has been recognized as the top athletic department in Utah for the 2023-24 season, finishing 36th in the Learfield Directors’ Cup standings. Utah placed 47th, followed by Utah State at 136th, Utah Valley at 194th, Southern Utah at 235th, and Weber State tied for 262nd. BYU’s cross-country and women’s soccer programs contributed significantly to its ranking.
