Tragic Boating Accident on Connecticut River Leaves One Dead, Two Missing
A tragic boating accident on the Connecticut River on Labor Day resulted in one death, two missing persons, and several injuries. The incident occurred around 9 p.m. when a 31-foot motorboat with nine people aboard struck a jetty near Old Saybrook. A search for the two missing individuals was paused overnight and resumed the following morning. The boat suffered significant damage and remains submerged. The driver is in critical condition, while one person has been released from the hospital. The cause of the accident is under investigation.

Lehi Softball's Strong First Season in Class 6A
Lehi High School's softball team had an impressive debut season in Class 6A, making a deep run in the state tournament and finishing with a 22-9-1 record. Despite being eliminated just before the finals, the Pioneers showcased strong performances, including key victories against tough opponents. Senior pitcher Emerson Fuller and outfielder Madison Salisbury were standout players, with both earning Academic All-State recognition. The team's success was attributed not only to their on-field achievements but also to their commitment to values and team chemistry, as emphasized by Coach Tim Kennedy.
