Tragic Loss: Santaquin Sergeant Killed in Duty Incident

Sergeant Bill Hooser of the Santaquin Police Department tragically lost his life in the line of duty after allegedly being struck by a semi-truck driver on the highway. Hooser, described as a dedicated officer and beloved family man, leaves behind his wife, two daughters, son-in-laws, and a new granddaughter. The community mourns his loss and rallies to support his family. Tributes poured in, emphasizing his positive impact. A GoFundMe campaign raised over $36,000. The suspect, Michael Aaron Jayne, was apprehended over 100 miles away. Hooser's body was escorted by first responders, and another procession will accompany him back home. Remains of Idaho man missing since 2019 found in Box Elder County

Human remains discovered in a remote area of Box Elder County have been identified as those of Matthew Broncho, an Idaho man reported missing in 2019. The remains were found by a man searching for antlers in the Hansel Mountains southeast of Snowville on April 27. Identified through dental records, Broncho was reported missing after his truck, wallet, and phone were found on Interstate 84 in Snowville. Despite extensive search efforts, Broncho remained missing until the recent discovery of his remains.
