School Bus Collides Head-On with Garbage Truck in Spanish Fork

A school bus carrying 40 students from Dixie High School's girls soccer team collided head-on with a garbage truck in Spanish Fork, Utah, on August 8, 2024. The crash occurred around 3 p.m. at the intersection of 630 West 400 North, as the school bus attempted to turn towards the new Spanish Fork High School. Three students and the garbage truck driver sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital; all are reported to be in non-critical condition. The incident is under investigation, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

Woman Dies in Tragic Accident at Chicago O'Hare Airport

A 57-year-old woman tragically died on Thursday morning, August 8, 2024, at Chicago O'Hare International Airport after becoming trapped in a baggage carousel. The incident occurred in Terminal 5 when emergency responders were called to the scene at around 7:45 a.m. The woman, who was not an airport worker, was found entangled in the conveyor belt system. Surveillance footage showed her entering a restricted area at 2:27 a.m., and she was discovered approximately five hours later. The Chicago Police Department has declared the area a crime scene and is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
