Five Hospitalized After Ambulance Crash on Cougar Boulevard in Provo

A truck collided with an ambulance in Provo, Utah, on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, leading to five individuals being hospitalized. The crash occurred at 2:45 p.m. when a southbound Toyota Tacoma failed to yield at the intersection of Cougar Boulevard and Freedom Boulevard. The collision caused the ambulance to hit a pole, seriously injuring four EMS workers, the original patient, and the Tacoma driver. The incident led to temporary lane closures as authorities investigated the scene.

Endangered Fin Whale Carcass Draws Crowds in Anchorage, Alaska

A 47-foot-long endangered fin whale washed ashore near Anchorage, Alaska, attracting local visitors and researchers who are investigating its death. Astronomers have discovered a "baby" exoplanet, IRAS 04125+2902 b, which is just 3 million years old, making it the youngest transiting planet identified so far. Located 520 light-years away, this planet orbits its host star closely, completing a year in less than nine Earth days. Its large size, over 10 times Earth's radius, suggests it could evolve into a super-Earth or sub-Neptune. The discovery was made possible by the skewed alignment of the star’s protoplanetary disk, offering unique insights into early planet formation. The planet’s proximity makes it an ideal candidate for further study with advanced telescopes like the James Webb Space Telescope.
