Federal Judge Dismisses Major Felony Charges Against Ex-Louisville Officers in Breonna Taylor Case
A federal judge has dismissed major felony charges against two former Louisville police officers, Joshua Jaynes and Kyle Meany, who were accused of falsifying the warrant that led to Breonna Taylor's fatal shooting. The judge ruled that the actions of Taylor's boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, who fired at police during the raid, were the legal cause of Taylor's death, not the flawed warrant. Charges against Jaynes and Meany have been reduced to misdemeanors, though some charges remain. The Justice Department is reviewing the decision, while a third officer, Kelly Goodlett, has already pleaded guilty and is set to testify.
