The decision was made after the Utah Supreme Court allowed Barlow's defense attorney to withdraw following a personal family loss. The current judge is set to retire at the end of the year, causing the trial to be delayed until at least March 2025.

Boeing Union Rejects "Final" Offer of 30% Pay Rise Over Four Years

The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM), representing over 30,000 Boeing workers, has criticized Boeing's "final" pay offer of a 30% wage increase over four years. The new proposal, which includes bonuses and retirement benefits, was rejected by the union, which claimed Boeing presented the offer without negotiation. Boeing denies this, stating it has bargained in good faith since March. The strike, which began after workers rejected a 25% raise, continues as the union pushes for a 40% increase. The strike is significantly impacting Boeing’s production and could cost the company billions.

Kansas State QB Avery Johnson Surprised by Positive Atmosphere in BYU Loss

Avery Johnson, Kansas State's quarterback, experienced a surprising and unique atmosphere during his first game in Provo, Utah, where BYU fans were unusually supportive despite BYU's 38-9 win over Kansas State. Instead of the typical heckling, BYU fans encouraged Johnson and his team, creating what Johnson described as a “weird” but positive environment. After the game, fans congratulated him and showed sportsmanship, a rarity in college football. Additionally, BYU fans generously supported Johnson’s fundraising efforts for his former high school principal battling stage-four cancer, helping his campaign exceed $40,000. BYU’s fans are known for extending kind gestures, even offering ice cream to opposing fanbases during games.
