Woman Arrested for Stealing Truck at Gunpoint Near Bridal Veil Falls

Heather Leann Murray, a Heber City woman, was arrested for allegedly stealing a truck at gunpoint from BYU students near Bridal Veil Falls and driving it into the Provo River on October 19, 2024. The incident began when Murray, believed to be under the influence of drugs, approached the students' vehicle and threatened them with a realistic-looking BB gun, prompting them to flee and call 911. Despite orders from officers to stop, she drove the truck into the river and later fled, but was eventually apprehended. Murray faces multiple charges, including aggravated robbery, possession of controlled substances, and aggravated assault.

Pro-Palestinian Protest Escalates at University of Minnesota Campus

Eleven pro-Palestinian protesters were arrested at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities after they barricaded Morrill Hall, locking staff inside on October 21, 2024. The protest began as a peaceful assembly before escalating when demonstrators spray-painted security cameras, broke windows, and blocked the building’s entrances and exits. University police, with assistance from the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office, arrested the protesters after issuing a campus-wide emergency alert.
