Provo Closes Intersection Where Jogger Was Killed in Hit-and-Run

Provo city has closed the intersection at 800 N. 850 West, where 21-year-old jogger Isabelle Parr was killed in a hit-and-run in December 2022. This decision comes as part of a broader plan to improve pedestrian safety, including rebuilding the 800 North bridge. The driver involved in Parr’s death has never been found. Provo officials, influenced by this tragedy, decided to close the intersection months ahead of planned construction. The city is also considering incorporating sunflowers, Isabelle's favorite flower, into the new bridge design as a tribute to her memory.
