Provo Library Director Carla Gordon emphasized the need for the funds to maintain current service levels. Councilmember George Handley supported the increase, citing overwhelming public support, while Councilmember Travis Hoban opposed it, calling for a more accurate budget assessment and exploring alternative revenue sources.
