Local law enforcement agencies have no current missing persons cases that match the remains, which appear neither recent nor ancient. Authorities continue to collect evidence and encourage anyone with information to contact the Utah County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Bureau, specifically Detective Fuell.

Pentagon Audit Finds Boeing Overcharged Air Force for Spare Parts

Boeing has been found to have overcharged the U.S. Air Force by $1 million on C-17 spare parts, with markups as high as 8,000% on items like soap dispensers. An anonymous tip led to a Pentagon audit that revealed only nine out of 46 parts were purchased at reasonable prices, with issues stemming from poor pricing controls and lack of historical data for fair-price validation. Boeing defended its pricing as meeting specific aircraft standards, while the Air Force committed to improving payment controls with the Defense Contract Management Agency.

Graduate Student’s Drone Data Analysis Uncovers Lost Mayan City

A vast, ancient Mayan city, named "Valeriana," has been discovered under dense jungle in Campeche, Mexico, through a student's analysis of drone LiDAR data. This newly identified city, hidden for centuries, spans an area 1.5 times the size of Washington, D.C., with over 6,600 structures, including pyramid-like buildings. The city, possibly home to 30-50,000 people, is believed to have declined around 800-1000 A.D. due to environmental factors, especially climate variability. LiDAR technology, which uses laser pulses to map beneath forest canopies, played a critical role in this discovery and is transforming archaeological research in remote areas.

Steelers Targeting Red Zone Threat for Russell Wilson’s Offense

With the NFL trade deadline approaching, several teams remain focused on filling critical gaps to strengthen their playoff runs. While some top trades have already occurred, like Davante Adams joining the Jets, a few franchises could still benefit from key acquisitions. These teams include the Pittsburgh Steelers, who need wide receiver depth for Russell Wilson, and the Detroit Lions, seeking an edge rusher after Aidan Hutchinson’s injury. Meanwhile, the San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles are eyeing defensive support, and the Buccaneers are focused on pass rush and receiver options due to injuries.
