New Sexual Assault Charge Filed Against Utah OB-GYN
Utah County OB-GYN Dr. David Harrison Broadbent, previously charged with forcible sexual abuse, now faces an additional charge of object rape following accusations of prolonged and inappropriate exams during patient visits. The new charges come amid a lawsuit revived by the Utah Supreme Court, which reversed a prior ruling that dismissed the case, stating that sexual assault claims fall outside the scope of medical malpractice. Initially brought by 94 women, the lawsuit has grown to include 213 women who allege Broadbent's actions involved unnecessary intimate exams and offensive remarks. The plaintiffs are seeking to move the trial from Provo to Salt Lake City.

New Mexico Authorities Discover Multiple Human Skulls
In Jal, New Mexico, authorities are investigating the discovery of multiple human skulls and bones, with at least one skull linked to the 2019 disappearance of Angela McManes. The case surfaced after a local resident reported suspicious behavior from a man they gave a ride to, who discarded what appeared to be human bones. Following a search, additional bone fragments and evidence of up to 20 skulls were found in the man's temporary residence. While he currently faces no charges, law enforcement is working to identify the remains and uncover their origins, as the man claimed he purchased the bones online.
Global Warming Projections Stuck for Three Years, Says CAT
Climate Action Tracker (CAT) reports that global warming projections have stalled for three years, with no progress since 2021, placing the world on a trajectory toward 2.7°C of warming by 2100. The report highlights a disconnect between escalating climate crises and inadequate governmental actions to curb greenhouse gas emissions, which are rising at nearly 0.3°C per decade. Despite clean energy investments outpacing fossil fuel spending, fossil fuel subsidies remain high, challenging the Paris Agreement’s climate goals. The emissions peak is expected by decade’s end but without the necessary declines to meet temperature targets.
