Army Specialist Charged with Murder of Female Sergeant at Fort Leonard Wood
An Army specialist, Spc. Wooster Rancy, has been charged with the murder of Sgt. Sarah Roque, a K9 handler with the 5th Engineer Battalion. Rancy, 21, is accused of killing Roque, 23, whose body was found in a dumpster on Missouri’s Fort Leonard Wood base on October 21. Roque’s disappearance triggered a search after she missed duty that morning, leading to the discovery of her body near the single soldier quarters. Rancy, a North Miami native, joined the Army in 2022 and is currently held in pretrial confinement. Roque, who enlisted in 2020, was described as a brave and honorable soldier, with officials offering support to affected personnel.

Robert Shonov Sentenced in Russia for “Foreign Collaboration” with the U.S.
Robert Shonov, a former U.S. Consulate employee in Russia, was sentenced to nearly five years in prison by a Vladivostok court for allegedly collaborating with a foreign state. Shonov, a Russian citizen, was charged with providing information on Russian military activities in Ukraine and their impact on domestic protests. The U.S. Embassy condemned the charges as baseless and part of a broader campaign against Russian nationals with foreign ties. Shonov’s role reportedly involved compiling media summaries, but Russian authorities pursued the case under a recent law that targets “foreign cooperation.” The sentence reflects growing U.S.-Russia tensions, with Moscow increasingly detaining individuals linked to foreign governments amid the Ukraine conflict.

Garrett Wilson’s Spectacular Catch Leads Jets to Victory
Garrett Wilson’s remarkable touchdown catch in the fourth quarter led the New York Jets to a 21-13 win over the Houston Texans, potentially revitalizing the Jets' season. Aaron Rodgers had a solid performance with 211 passing yards and three touchdowns, including two to Wilson, who also opened the scoring with an impressive catch. The Jets’ defense dominated, holding Texans QB C.J. Stroud to a low completion rate and recording eight sacks. However, mistakes by Malachi Corley and struggles from Houston’s receivers and offensive line contributed to the Texans’ loss.
