Justin Hooiman’s Mysterious Disappearance in Salt Lake City

Justin Hooiman, a construction worker from Salt Lake City, disappeared on November 20, 2017, after leaving for work and planning to meet his mother for lunch. His phone and credit card activity ceased shortly after. In March 2021, investigators began treating the case as a possible homicide. Hooiman's family, seeking answers, attended CrimeCon 2024 in Nashville to raise awareness. Hooiman, who had battled addiction, was living at a halfway house and left with another resident on the day he vanished. The family is appealing to the public for information about individuals at the halfway house during that time.

New California Laws

Several new laws in California, signed by Governor Gavin Newsom, will take effect on July 1, 2024.
