Denny’s Announces Plans to Close 150 Locations Nationwide

Denny’s, the beloved 24-hour diner chain, is closing 150 locations nationwide over the next two years, including 50 by the end of 2024. The decision, driven by outdated facilities and low-performing restaurants, will hit California, Utah, and Nevada the hardest. California, with 389 locations, accounts for 25% of Denny’s global footprint. After the closures, about 1,375 U.S. locations will remain. While Denny’s has not revealed which locations are closing, the future of late-night dining staples like the Grand Slam breakfast is uncertain for many.

Winter Storms to Impact Thanksgiving Travel Across the U.S.

Winter storms across the U.S. are forecasted to disrupt Thanksgiving travel, with snow expected from California to the East Coast. The Sierra Nevada mountains may see up to 3 feet of snow by Wednesday, while the Midwest and Northeast face icy conditions and freezing rain. Although rain is likely for New England cities like Boston and New York, colder regions such as upstate New York and Maine could see snow on Thanksgiving Day and beyond. Nearly 80 million travelers are expected to hit the roads and skies this week, with Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons posing the most significant congestion risks.

Israel and Lebanon Close to Finalizing Ceasefire Agreement

Israel and Lebanon are nearing a 60-day ceasefire agreement to end the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, involving Israeli withdrawal and Lebanese army reinforcement in southern Lebanon. Key details include a five-country committee to monitor the truce and provisions allowing Israel to take military action if Hezbollah returns south of the Litani River. Despite opposition from Israeli hardliners, the deal aims to address domestic and international concerns, including the displacement of thousands on both sides and compliance with UN Security Council Resolution 1701.

Liverpool Leads the Pack as Real Madrid Faces Top Eight Uncertainty

As the Champions League league phase approaches its second half, unpredictability reigns. Liverpool tops the standings with a perfect record, while traditional powerhouses like Real Madrid and PSG struggle to stay in contention. Real faces a critical match against Liverpool, where a loss could jeopardize their top-eight aspirations. PSG remains on shaky ground after a loss to Bayern but still has opportunities against weaker opponents. The new format, which sees 36 teams vying for 24 spots, adds complexity to qualification dynamics. Key matches, like Stuttgart vs. Crvena Zvezda, could heavily influence the battle for playoff positions.
