Threats targeting Mt. Nebo Middle School in Payson led to a police presence at the school after threats were received against the school and district staff members. The threats, received Thursday night and Friday morning, included claims of a bomb in the school and were believed to be connected to a recent protest at the school. Police conducted a sweep of the building but found no evidence of the threat. Despite the lack of evidence, there was an increased police presence at the school as a precaution. Witness Accounts: Low Altitude and Erratic Maneuvers

A Diamond DA-40 aircraft crashed while flying through a canyon near Cedar City, Utah, killing all four occupants. The pilot had rented the plane for a multi-leg cross-country flight. Witnesses observed the aircraft flying low and making erratic maneuvers before crashing into mountainous terrain. Investigations revealed that the plane was overweight at departure and its center of gravity was outside the approved envelope.
