Tesla Stock Surges Above $1 Trillion After Trump Election Win

Tesla’s market value surged beyond $1 trillion following the election of Donald Trump, backed by high-profile endorsements and financial support from CEO Elon Musk. Tesla stock climbed 8.2%, reaching $321.22, adding over $230 billion in market cap in the past week alone. Industry experts suggest that Trump’s administration may fast-track regulatory approvals for Tesla’s autonomous driving technology and relax enforcement of current driver-assistance rules. Tesla, however, continues to face scrutiny from the NHTSA regarding Full Self-Driving (FSD) software incidents, including fatal crashes. Wall Street expects a Trump administration to favor deregulation, benefiting Tesla and other innovative ventures.

Israel Faces U.S. Deadline to Increase Gaza Aid Amid Crisis Conditions

Israel faces a U.S.-imposed deadline to increase aid to Gaza, where civilians are at risk of famine. Despite an uptick to 150 aid trucks daily, this falls short of the 350 trucks the U.S. specified to meet urgent needs. Israel's Foreign Minister, Gideon Saar, is hopeful about reaching a resolution with the U.S., but former ambassador Michael Oren warned that a reduction in American support could weaken Israel’s war effort and influence other nations to limit their support. President Isaac Herzog is set to meet President Biden, with aid to Gaza likely topping the agenda amid expectations of a policy shift under President-elect Trump.

BYU Favored Over Utah in Close Big 12 Rivalry Game This Saturday

BYU’s football team celebrated a close 22-21 victory over Utah with some playful post-game trolling. BYU freshman Tre Alexander, who had previously responded to Utah quarterback Cam Rising's rivalry comments on social media, wore a custom t-shirt referencing Rising's pre-season statement about wanting to "whoop" BYU. Although Rising did not play due to injury, Alexander’s postgame commentary made light of the earlier exchange. Despite the rivalry antics, Alexander showed respect by honoring Utah's "Moment of Loudness," remarking, "Some things are bigger than football."
