Infant Ejected in Draper Car Crash Now Stable

A car crash in Draper, Utah, on June 17 resulted in a five-month-old infant being ejected from a vehicle. The incident occurred around 2 p.m. at the intersection of 12300 South and 265 West, involving an SUV and a smaller car. The crash caused the car to spin and collide with a semi-truck. Initially in serious condition, the infant is now stable. The drivers sustained minor injuries, and teenagers in the SUV were hospitalized. The Critical Accident Response team is investigating the cause of the infant's ejection from the car.

LAUSD to Vote on Cellphone and Social Media Ban

The Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), the second-largest school district in the nation, is voting on a proposed ban on cellphones and social media use for over 429,000 K-12 students during school days. If approved, the policy will be developed and implemented by January 2025, aiming to reduce distractions, cyberbullying, and improve mental health and learning environments. The district plans to incorporate best practices and input from experts, staff, students, and parents in the new policies, which may include locked pouches or cellphone lockers.
