Provo Police Discover Storage Unit Full of Stolen E-Bikes and Property

Provo police recently arrested Jordan Olsen after discovering his storage unit filled with stolen electric bicycles and other property. The investigation initially began when officers were searching for two stolen e-bikes valued at $2,200 each. During the search, they uncovered additional stolen items, including other e-bikes, scooters, and a set of golf clubs valued at over $400, which had been stolen near the BYU campus earlier this month. Olsen’s vehicle had been seen at the scene of that theft, linking him to the crime. The stolen property in Olsen’s storage unit is currently valued at over $8,000, but police have not yet determined the full extent of the stolen goods.

SpaceX to Launch Crew-9 Mission to International Space Station

SpaceX will launch its Crew-9 mission to the ISS on Saturday, carrying NASA astronaut Nick Hague and Russian cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov. The capsule will also bring home two NASA astronauts who were stranded after technical issues with Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft. Originally set to stay only eight days, Wilmore and Williams have been at the ISS since June due to Starliner's helium leaks and thruster issues. The Crew-9 mission was adjusted to leave seats open for their return. The launch, already delayed multiple times, currently has a 55% chance of favorable weather conditions.

Russian Drone Strikes on Ukrainian Hospital Leave Nine Dead, Twelve Injured

Nine people were killed and 12 injured in twin Russian drone strikes on a hospital in Sumy, northeastern Ukraine. The attack hit the hospital on Saturday morning, with a second strike occurring during the evacuation of patients and staff. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the strikes, calling them an attack on civilian targets. The hospital’s building sustained severe damage, and a fire that broke out was later contained. The strikes come amid ongoing Russian attacks in the region and follow recent diplomatic meetings between Zelensky and U.S. leaders.

Virginia Tech’s Hail Mary Upset of Miami Overturned After Review

Virginia Tech nearly upset No. 7 Miami with a walk-off Hail Mary touchdown, but the play was overturned after a lengthy review, giving Miami a 38-34 victory. The Hokies took an early lead and held a 10-point advantage in the third quarter before Miami rallied. With three seconds left, Virginia Tech’s Kyron Drones threw a Hail Mary that was initially ruled a touchdown by Da'Quan Felton. After review, officials determined Miami’s defensive back secured the ball, securing the win for the Hurricanes. Miami's Cam Ward threw for 343 yards and four touchdowns in the victory.
