51-Year-Old Man Arrested in South Jordan for Assaulting Fast Food Worker

Salvador Anthony Espericueta, 51, was arrested in South Jordan, Utah, for allegedly choking a fast food worker following an argument over a drive-thru order. The incident occurred at 5414 West Daybreak Parkway, where the suspect reportedly escalated a verbal altercation into physical assault, constricting the victim’s breathing and pushing them against a wall. Espericueta fled the scene but admitted to making a mistake when police later contacted him at his residence. He now faces charges of aggravated assault, aggravated child abuse, and disorderly conduct.

Big Lots Reaches Agreement to Save Over 200 Stores Amid Bankruptcy

Big Lots, a national discount retailer based in Ohio, has found a buyer to keep at least 200 stores open as part of its Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings. The agreement with Gordon Brothers Retail Partners and Variety Wholesalers may also retain some staff and operations under the Big Lots brand. Variety Wholesalers plans to acquire between 200 and 400 stores, along with distribution centers, while other closures continue. The deal awaits bankruptcy court approval and represents a chance to preserve the brand and jobs amid ongoing restructuring.

Air Canada Express Flight Evacuated After Suspected Landing Gear Failure

An Air Canada Express flight with 73 passengers was evacuated on the runway at Halifax Stanfield International Airport after experiencing a suspected landing gear failure.
