Mother of AMBER Alert Children Found Dead in Burning Utah Home

The mother of two children involved in an AMBER Alert was found dead with a neck wound inside her burning home in Riverdale, Utah. Authorities arrested the children’s father, Ricardo Trujillo Rojel, on charges of aggravated murder and arson. Witnesses reported hearing a woman scream before the fire, which investigators determined was started with an accelerant. Rojel and the children were later found over an hour away, where he resisted arrest. He has a history of domestic violence and is being held without bail. The children were placed in the custody of child services.

Trump Administration Restructures HHS, Cuts 20,000 Jobs

The Trump administration has announced a major restructuring of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), cutting 20,000 jobs and reducing the number of divisions from 28 to 15. HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. stated the goal is to eliminate bureaucracy and focus on chronic disease prevention. The restructuring includes the creation of the Administration for a Healthy America (AHA) and will reportedly save $1.8 billion. Critics, including Senator Angela Alsobrooks, argue the cuts will endanger public health and reduce oversight against fraud and waste.

Foreign Aid Cuts Could Lead to Millions of HIV Infections and Deaths

A new study warns that planned foreign aid cuts from major donor nations—including the U.S., U.K., France, Germany, and the Netherlands—could lead to millions of new HIV infections and deaths worldwide. Researchers from the Burnet Institute and WHO found that reduced funding could result in 4.4 to 10.8 million new HIV cases and up to 2.9 million deaths by 2030. The U.S. has paused foreign development assistance, raising concerns over potential cuts to PEPFAR, a key HIV relief program. Experts fear that without sustained funding, global progress against HIV could be undone, with the most severe impacts in sub-Saharan Africa.

BYU Guard Dawson Baker Ejected After Flagrant 2 Foul Against Wisconsin

BYU has a scheduling advantage over Alabama in the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 due to its policy of not playing on Sundays, giving the Cougars an extra day of rest. Additionally, Alabama’s Mo Dioubate faces a Ramadan-related challenge, as he cannot eat before the game’s 6:09 PM CST tip-off. Despite these factors, ESPN's computer model favors Alabama with a 64.8% chance of winning. However, some ESPN analysts predict a BYU upset. Alabama's key concern is Mark Sears' recent shooting slump, which could impact their performance in a close game.
