OpenAI Counters Elon Musk’s Lawsuit Over For-Profit Structure

OpenAI has responded to Elon Musk's lawsuit, which challenges the organization's transition to a for-profit structure, by presenting evidence that Musk previously supported such a move. Musk, a co-founder of OpenAI, left the company in 2018 after disagreements over his attempts to gain majority control and later sued OpenAI in March 2024, claiming it violated its original nonprofit mission. OpenAI highlighted emails and discussions from 2015–2018 where Musk endorsed a for-profit structure and even suggested merging OpenAI with Tesla. Musk declined equity in OpenAI’s for-profit arm but has since launched a competing AI company, xAI.

French President Emmanuel Macron and Prime Minister François Bayrou pledged full support, with additional aid planned as the cyclone heads toward Mozambique.

49ers Linebacker De'Vondre Campbell to Exit Team After Controversy

San Francisco 49ers linebacker De'Vondre Campbell is set to leave the team following his refusal to play during a loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Head coach Kyle Shanahan and teammates criticized Campbell’s actions, calling them unacceptable. Campbell, who signed a one-year deal as a placeholder for Dre Greenlaw, had been a key contributor this season with 79 tackles. Despite his performance, his refusal to step in when injuries required his presence on the field has led to this decision. The team is exploring options for his departure, including release or suspension, while also assessing potential roster replacements amid injury concerns for other linebackers.
