Ranking Equality: BYU and Utah Law Schools Tied at 28th Place Nationally

In the latest U.S. News & World Reports 2024 rankings, both the University of Utah's S.J. Quinney College of Law and Brigham Young University's J. Reuben Clark Law School are tied at 28th place among the nation's law schools. While BYU had previously reached 22nd place in the 2023 rankings, this marks the University of Utah's highest ranking ever and its sixth consecutive year of improvement. Both institutions are ranked alongside law schools such as Boston College, the University of Florida, and George Mason University. BYU Law emphasizes its mission-driven excellence and affordability, while Utah Law attributes its success to factors like its low student-to-faculty ratio, high bar exam passage rates, and strong employment rates after graduation. Despite their academic achievements, both schools stress the broader impact they have on society beyond rankings.
