Angel Moroni Statue Replaced After Lightning Strike

The Angel Moroni statue atop the Star Valley Wyoming Temple was recently replaced after being damaged by a lightning strike. The statue, which serves as a lightning rod to protect the temple's electrical systems, sustained minimal damage, only blackening a small part of its backside. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints promptly replaced the statue with a new one, a process that took four hours. The church maintains backup statues for such situations, and the damaged statue will be repaired for future use.

Tesla has quietly removed the option to preorder the less expensive versions that were expected to launch in 2025, leading to disappointment among fans. Despite the higher price, the Cybertruck has gained popularity as a status symbol, but it has faced significant production challenges and multiple recalls. Tesla is now prioritizing the delivery of the more expensive models sooner than previously planned.

Russia Complains About Ukraine's Advance into Kursk Region

Russia complained about Ukraine's recent advances into the Kursk region, describing its people as "peaceful" and undeserving of attack. The statement has been met with irony, given that Russia initiated the conflict by invading Ukraine. The Ukrainian offensive into Kursk marks a rare instance of ground forces crossing into Russian territory, contrasting with Ukraine's usual focus on defending its own land. The U.S. dismissed Russia's complaints, highlighting the contradiction in its stance. The situation has prompted further debate about the Russian population's support for the war, with Ukrainian officials questioning the collective responsibility of Russian society.
