Motorcyclist Fatality in Provo Canyon

A motorcyclist died in Provo Canyon, Utah, on June 2 after losing control and hitting a guard rail. The incident occurred around 2:20 p.m. on U.S. 189, near mile marker 16. The rider, a 31-year-old, was thrown from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene. The motorcycle continued for about 200 yards before stopping. The crash caused northbound traffic to be closed for investigation. The deceased's identity has not been released, and the cause of the accident remains unknown.

Juror Bribed with $120,000 to Influence Verdict

A juror in Minneapolis was dismissed from a trial after reporting that she received a bag containing $120,000 in cash with a promise of more money if she voted to acquit seven defendants accused of stealing over $40 million from a pandemic-related food program for children. This incident, described as "outrageous" by the prosecution, occurred in the context of one of the largest pandemic-related fraud cases in the U.S., where a total of 70 defendants are implicated. The trial, which began in April, has already seen 18 guilty pleas, and around $50 million has been recovered. The juror, a 23-year-old woman, reported the bribe attempt to the police immediately.

Russia Warns US of Severe Consequences in Ukraine Conflict

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov warned the U.S. of "fatal consequences" if it allows Ukraine to use U.S.-supplied weapons to strike inside Russia. Garlic Proven Effective in Lowering Blood Sugar and Cholesterol

A recent meta-analysis published in Nutrients found that garlic significantly improves fasting blood glucose (FBG), Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c), total cholesterol (TC), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) levels, but not triglycerides (TG). The study reviewed 29 trials with 1,567 participants, showing garlic's potential in managing blood sugar and cholesterol. Various forms of garlic, including powder, raw, oil, and aged extract, were effective over intervention periods of 3 weeks to 1 year.
